Public Policy
|
On January 1st, 2004, the San Francisco Alliance for Catholic Schools established operational procedures for a Public Policy Committee, whose purpose is to organize the local Catholic school community into a local advocacy network. We believe the best way to accomplish this is by educating and informing the community by means of action alerts issued or approved by the SFACS about issues and legislation affecting Catholic schools, teachers, students and families. The Department of Catholic Schools Public Policy Office will forward emails from the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, the California Catholic Conference and/or other government organizations, for informational purposes only, to individuals identified as liaisons between the Department of Catholic Schools and the Public Policy Committee, with the intention of encouraging members of the Catholic school community to communicate with their state or federal legislators and other public policy officials regarding their educational rights and public policy concerns. |
